Matthew 13:
51 “Have you understood all these things?” Jesus asked.
“Yes,” they replied.
52 He said to them, “Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.”

To be a disciple will result in becoming a teacher. Every one of us is a life long student learning the ways of God. The goal is to teach others.

Jesus’ disciples were able to take what they had learned in the Old Testament and discover new treasures of truth in the New Covenant.

This begs the question of us—can we teach what we have learned previously and teach what we are starting to learn anew? You are never too old to learn something new. You are never too old to do something untried and difficult.

At this middle point of your life, what do you need to cash in and re-invest into God’s Kingdom? You may have had many pursuits and priorities previously that you can let go of. Can you let go of the past joyfully or will you nostalgically hold on to things that are behind? Is this your time to joyfully embark on a new Kingdom adventure?
