If Jesus were married to the Pharisees and Sadducees, you would see a divorce coming from the way they speak to each other. 

What are we to make of the brash words they often exchanged?

Jesus was invited to dine at a Pharisee’s house (Luke 11). In quick time a fierce dialogue erupts.

The harshness of his critique strikes our modern, sophisticated taste as almost rude, but in ancient culture, as in many non-Western cultures today, discussions about religion were very open and direct. So Jesus delivers his honest opinion about the leadership's spiritual life. [i]

From the table talk, Jesus has seven tough love points to make. What if we were to recline at this table and let Jesus speak with tough love to us?
