Genesis 2:
Heaven and Earth were finished,
    down to the last detail.
2-4 By the seventh day
        God had finished his work.
    On the seventh day
he rested from all his work.
    God blessed the seventh day.
He made it a Holy Day
Because on that day he rested from his work,
all the creating God had done.
This is the story of how it all started,
of Heaven and Earth when they were created.

On the seventh day God rested—the really good work was done and it was time to let the new day begin. Everything set in motion to generate goodness and light.

How can we not respond with joy to God’s perfect gestures? How can we be silent in the face of oppression, darkness and death?

We have a great message to bring to a restless world. Enter into the resting place, the Shalom of God. Come sit down in high places next to the Lord of Rest.

From the resting place you see the world as it is meant to be. From the place of intimate belonging to God, we find strength for a new day.
